China Rides has successfully completed the delivery and installation of a 120-meter giant Ferris wheel at a premier theme park in the Middle East. This landmark project represents the largest observation wheel ever manufactured by the company, featuring 48 climate-controlled cabins with a total capacity of 1,440 passengers per rotation.
The Ferris wheel, which took 14 months to design and manufacture, incorporates advanced engineering features including wind-resistant steel structures rated for 120 km/h gusts, LED lighting systems with 16 million color combinations, and a redundant drive system ensuring uninterrupted operation. Each cabin is equipped with panoramic glass panels, air conditioning, and interactive display screens showing real-time elevation and landmarks.
"This project demonstrates our capability to deliver world-class large-scale amusement equipment to international markets," said the project director. "The Middle East is a rapidly growing market for premium theme park attractions, and this Ferris wheel will serve as an iconic landmark for the region."
The installation team worked through extreme desert conditions, completing assembly in just 45 days. The wheel officially opened to the public last week, with an expected annual ridership of over 2 million visitors. China Rides provides a comprehensive 5-year maintenance contract as part of the delivery package.
