China Rides has launched an innovative AI-powered predictive maintenance system for its amusement rides, becoming one of the first Chinese manufacturers to offer comprehensive digital health monitoring for installed equipment. The system uses over 200 IoT sensors per major ride to monitor vibration, temperature, stress, and wear in real-time.

The system collects data from sensors installed on critical components including wheel assemblies, track joints, brake mechanisms, drive motors, and structural supports. This data is transmitted to a cloud platform where machine learning algorithms analyze patterns and predict potential failures weeks or months before they occur, enabling scheduled maintenance rather than reactive repairs.

"Safety is our highest priority, and this system takes it to a new level," said the chief technology officer. "In beta testing at three installations, the system predicted bearing failures in coaster wheel assemblies with 94% accuracy up to three weeks in advance, allowing maintenance teams to replace components during scheduled downtime."

The system includes a mobile app for maintenance technicians that provides real-time alerts, maintenance schedules, and step-by-step repair guides with 3D diagrams. It also generates automated compliance reports for safety inspections, reducing administrative burden for park operators.

All new China Rides installations now include the predictive maintenance system as standard equipment. Existing installations can be retrofitted with sensor packages starting at $8,000 per ride. The system is compatible with rides from other manufacturers through an open API protocol.
